  • Exercise description:

    Step by step how to perform a Bearhug Walk

    • Positioning: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Grip the sandbag tightly against your chest in a bear hug position. Keep your back straight and core engaged.

    • Breathing: Take a deep breath in and brace your core.

    • Walking: Begin walking forward with small, controlled steps. Maintain a firm grip on the sandbag and keep your posture upright.

    • Endurance: Continue walking for the prescribed distance or time. Inhale deeply before starting the walk, brace your core, and use short, controlled exhales while maintaining core tension during the movement.

  • Technique that must be performed to count: Must maintain positive control of the bag in a bearhug for the full distance. If the bag is dropped, then complete 5 burpees before resuming the station.

  • # of repetitions before shooting: Distance of 50 ft.

  • Casual division modifier: Lighter weight or shorter distance

  • Exercise equipment needed: 120 lbs Heavy weight bags, balls, or punching bag.
