Concept of Operations

The Operator Syndicate Series is designed on the KISS principle. (Keep It Simple Stupid). Simplicity outperforms complexity. BRILLIANCE is in the basics. In high stress environments of battle, life, or under fatigue we fall onto a foundation of fundamentals. OSS tests your fitness and marksmanship performance under pressure. To win, focus on the fundamentals.

The concept of operations: 1) Run.  2) WOD with guns. 3) Ruck. 4) BBQ.

Every OSS competition will begin with a timed run (0.5 - 2 mile).

Every WOD station will have a prescribed exercise & shooting drill on steel targets.

  • Approximately 25 noncomplex, very simple exercise stations with simple shooting drills.

  • Most stations will be scored as AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible) within a time limit.

  • Very little down time. During your "rest period", athletes will score, time keep and be safety officials for each other.

This WOD style challenge will be strictly focused on athleticism and shooting fundamentals while fatigued. Do not expect themed scenarios, tactically designed stages, or IDPA style set-ups.

The last event of every OSS challenge, competitors will go for a timed ruck march (4-8 Miles) for score.

  • Those who don't want to ruck, will take a zero for that high value station and will be forced to help tear down the ranges. Completion of the ruck march is required for top 3 award placements.

Come back off the ruck to a hot BBQ and cold drinks!

Scoring and Ranking: See the rule book for complete details.

  • OSS uses a standard 100-point percentage based ranking system for overall event score.

  • Your best 3 out of 4 OSS challenges will be used to determine your season ranking.

  • Top athletes from each division and class will qualify for the season finale.
