Pre Comp Comms

Operators,

You have registered for the next in-person Operator Syndicate Series tactical fitness competition.

If this is your first trip to MTC, Marksmanship Training Center is located right on M66 about 10 miles north of Lake City, Michigan. Please arrive no later than 0800

When you arrive, we will assemble under the main pavilion promptly at 0800 for sign-in, squadding, and the safety brief . Leave all your weapons secured in your vehicles.

Use this time to stretch and warm up. Come dressed in your running attire and body armor for the timed and scored “warm-up run” which will follow the safety brief promptly at 0900.

After the run, you will have a limited amount of time to change clothing if you choose to and prep your range equipment. To save yourself time, bring as many mags as you have fully loaded.  The live-fire WOD starts promptly at 0930 with very few breaks until completion.

We will have snacks available throughout the day if you need to refuel. We will also have bottled water available in ice coolers which will travel from range to range. You are welcome to use the coolers for your own beverage that you bring.  After the ruck race, we will have hot chow for you.  Besides leftover snacks, we’ll have salad and a protein available for you. Victory drinks are allowed after all ranges go cold.

Unlike most shooting competitions where you perform a stage of fire, then get to selfishly mentally check out until it’s your turn again, the Operator Syndicate Series is purposefully designed to keep you mentally and/or physically engaged all-day-long (even on your rest time). From 0900-completion you will be constantly “on the clock” and being evaluated/scored.

Think of this as a rigorous special unit screening selection, except my goal is zero percent attrition. You are not allowed to quit.

Do yourself a favor and look over this month’s WOD program to familiarize yourself with each exercise station. Not only do you have to perform each exercise correctly, but you also have to ensure your partner is performing each exercise correctly. You may get a point penalty for allowing your partner to complete poor form sets.

The Rule Book is up to date, but if you have any additional questions that are unclear, please feel free to ask ahead of time.

I prefer all competitors register beforehand, but if you get a last-minute tag along, walk-ons are welcome. Have them bring cash.  And speaking of cash, bring a little extra cash for OSS stickers and boot camp T shirts.
